    Himmelfarb: Q&A With Adam Rubin

Matt Himmelfarb has a very solid Q&A with Adam Rubin of the N.Y. Daily News...and it's full of a lot of really interesting stuff.

I don't totally buy it, I think the new way of looking at stats will always be part of the evaluation process. But...I don't think the faddish emphasis on them will continue and I suspect that's what Rubin is saying here.

It's part of the picture, but not the sum of the parts.

    Good job, Matt!

I guess you're a tad disappointed in his comments about your boy Pagliacci
Some see the glass half-full, and are happy.

Some see it as half-empty, and are sad.

Some see it as empty, and say that whatever you fill it with will taste awful anyway.

Backed up the view that I had on Val and Chris Aquila the whole time...when 30 something journeymen minor league OFers all of a sudden hit well at AAA, they really shouldn't be viewed as major leaguers...I think that your typical 30+ year old journeyman minor league catcher would be more feasable to jump to the majors, than a 30+ year old AAAA OFer...
