Mets farmhand Philip Humber won ‘Pitcher of the Week’ honors for the Pacific Coast league, ending the week of April 22.
Humber, who is currently pitching for the Mets AAA farm affiliate New Orleans Zephyrs yielded just 2 runs over his 13 innings pitched. The 6-4 Texan faced Albuquerque and Nashville in that stretch and compiled a 1-0 record with an ERA of 1.38 and struck out 7 over the two games.
Overall teams are hitting just .211 against Humber this season.
Humber was selected by the New York Mets in the first round (third overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft.
