Glavine Gets Rocked In Colorado, Mets Fall 6-2
[Jul. 3, 2007] Our Mets threw in a stinker Monday evening in the first game against the Colorado Rockies. Tom Glavine threw in a forgetable outing, while the offense seemed impatient at the plate. Maybe we could chalk it up to the trip in getting out there and they'll be back on stride tonight. Stay tuned.

Maine Strong In Nightcap Mets Complete Sweep Of Phillies, 5-2
[Jun. 29, 2007] John Maine put on an excellent performance in the nightcap Friday evening going eight innings to seal the doubleheader sweep for the Mets. Carlos Beltran hit two bombs off Phillies starting pitcher Cole Hamels in leading the Mets offense to the 5-2 victory.

[Jun. 29, 2007] El Duque was sharp this afternoon and Carlos Delgado swung a warm bat as he went 3 for 4 with a home run. The bullpen made the game more interesting, but Billy Wagner closed the door abruptly and the Mets went on to win the first of two today in Philadelphia.

[Jun. 28, 2007] We'll take it! David Wright's two-run home run in the first inning was all the offense the Mets needed to get past the Cardinals on Wednesday evening, before the skies opened up and washed out the final three frames. Tom Glavine in the process notched his 297th career win, giving up just one hit over his six innings pitched.

Cards Trip Mets In 11th, Streak Halted At Four, 5-3
[Jun. 27, 2007] The Mets gave it all to us in their Tuesday night loss to the Cardinals. From shoddy defense from Jose Valentin to Carlos Delgado, who just swings at every pitch nowadays, to Scott Schoeneweis giving up the game winning home run to a light hitting minor leaguer. The offense wasn't much better, nor were some in-game decisions, by manager Willie Randolph.

Mets Have No Answers As Santana Tosses Complete Game Shutout, 9-0
[Jun. 20, 2007] Johan Santana put on a pitching clinic last night at Shea. Known mostly for throwing strikeouts and going around six or sevens innings a start in his career, Santana showed what he could when he uses his fielders behind him. Whether it was fly balls or ground outs, Johan threw a very economical 92 pitches going the distance...in the process giving his bullpen a blow for the evening. We lost, but congrats to Santana for a great learning experience to all students here at FU!
