Mets Sign Carvajal; Designate Schmoll [Feb. 17, 2007] The Mets snagged young fireballer Miguel Carvajal off waivers from Tampa Bay and placed him on the 40-man roster. Although just 22, the Mets will be Carvajal's fourth organization.
Peterson Signs Deal [Feb. 3, 2007] Mets' pitching coach Rick Peterson signed a three-year extension, while coaches Guy Conti, Sandy Alomar, Rick Down, Tom Nieto and Jerry Manuel all signed two-year deals. Howard Johnson, who replaces Manny Acta, now managing the Nationals, got a one-year deal.
