FLUSHING, N.Y. – Well if the early tally of the All-Star balloting has anything to say, it all but suggests that the Mets will be sending four players to the mid-summer classic...all as starters.
Carlos Beltran, Paul Lo Duca, Jose Reyes and David Wright are all leading their positions in voting as of today and if the voting holds up, this would be the second consecutive year that they all would be going. The last time the Mets sent four starters to the All-Star game was all the way back in 1986, when Doc Gooden, Gary Carter, Darryl Strawberry and Keith Hernandez all went along with Sid Fernandez as an alternate, who got into the game and pitched one inning.
The 77th Edition of the Major League All-Star game is scheduled to be played on July 10th in San Francisco and will be televised on FOX.
